Mongolia names its winners at Inspiring Mongolia 2026, sending seven stories of community empowerment to the Inspiring Asia’s Main Phase

For the second year, Mongolia has taken part in the Inspiring Asia Micro Film Festival and on 13 August we celebrated the results. Twenty-six teams entered this year. Seven films made it to the stage, and nine winners were named across five awards.

Dandelion: It Takes a Village to Raise a Child, made by the Christina Noble Children's Foundation and directed by Tuvshinzaya Batbayar, was named Best Micro Film. Oi Heritage told through the film Flight Home, was named Best Project.

Both winners, along with the other national finalists, now advance to the regional competition, where Mongolia's entries will be judged alongside those from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

This year's festival theme is Community Empowerment: Belonging. Resilience. Thriving. Entries were asked not only to name a social problem but to show what a working answer looks like.
