Lorinet Foundation hosts Early Childhood Development Roundtable in partnership with UNICEF Mongolia

In May 2018, Lorinet Foundation in partnership with UNICEF hosted a roundtable discussion in Ulaanbaatar that brought together over 30 stakeholders focusing on early childhood development (ECD) across Mongolia.

Lorinet Foundation shared insights on early childhood education needs in ger district followed by a presentation on importance of integrated ECD by Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports (MECSS) with UNICEF. The participants came from diverse organizations like education ministry, education institutes, kindergartens, international agencies along with local and international NGOs.

The discussions brought out the importance and ways to promote integrated ECD, community and policy approaches to bridge the existing gaps in early childhood education and development. The participants also highlighted the need of establishing an ECD platform that could enable ongoing knowledge exchange amongst stakeholder as well as encourage collaboration. Lorinet Foundation’s team shared their keen interest to support such a platform for collective sustainable impact and will continue to work with partners like UNICEF to bring this to fruition.

Lorinet Foundation’s key focus in medium term is to positively impact the access and quality of early childhood education through supporting pioneering, impactful and sustainable local initiatives in Mongolia. It is currently seeking potential project proposals from local social purpose organizations working on these outcomes. More information on the grant call is available here.
